Jon,
It's a classic that remains lovely, and Rowan thoroughly enjoys it。He's really into the fire right now, but the identification format successfully gets him pointing out different things with almost every read as the word and image finally click。 Such a nice little thing。 It's a classic that remains lovely, and Rowan thoroughly enjoys it。He's really into the fire right now, but the identification format successfully gets him pointing out different things with almost every read as the word and image finally click。 Such a nice little thing。 。。。more

As a child, I personally found this book creepy。 But, in trying to find Spanish books for my baby, the selection is limited so I got it for him in Spanish and he loved it。

Chloe Goodman,
If your child is filled with energy at bedtime, or your student needs to be calmed down after a long day, Goodnight Moon is a great calming book to read to them。 This story describes a child who goes around his room saying goodnight to everything he can find before he goes to sleep。 After a while, the child says goodnight so many times that he falls asleep without even realizing it。 This is a very cute and th0ughtful story with beautiful illustrations。
Erin,

Goodnight Moon's "great green room" is very clearly a spiritual antecedent to the creaking white bedroom at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey, the Red Room from Twin Peaks, and probably any number of other meticulously decorated liminal chambers that exist outside the bounds of space and time as they are traditionally understood。 (Goodnight Moon would actually be a good alternate title for 2001。) Goodnight Moon's "great green room" is very clearly a spiritual antecedent to the creaking white bedroom at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey, the Red Room from Twin Peaks, and probably any number of other meticulously decorated liminal chambers that exist outside the bounds of space and time as they are traditionally understood。 (Goodnight Moon would actually be a good alternate title for 2001。) 。。。more

Goodnight Moon was a classic for me as a kid, and I had my grandma read it every night。 This is a perfect book for beginning readers。 The pages are all either monochromatic or colored with primary colors only。 The book is very repetitive and most pages start off with "and", which may help with the flow of the book。 The book is basically just telling everything goodnight in a way that rhymes。 This is interesting for youngsters, but once the child could read on her/his own, they should probably mo Goodnight Moon was a classic for me as a kid, and I had my grandma read it every night。 This is a perfect book for beginning readers。 The pages are all either monochromatic or colored with primary colors only。 The book is very repetitive and most pages start off with "and", which may help with the flow of the book。 The book is basically just telling everything goodnight in a way that rhymes。 This is interesting for youngsters, but once the child could read on her/his own, they should probably move on from this book。 Giving this book 4 stars because I am not a fan of the boring colors/pictures in the illustrations。 This book is also earning only 4 stars from me because I feel it would be more beneficial to read books with a message or actual substance。 。。。more
